Business change monitoring: goals and approval policies
Set business monitoring goals, choose which customer, supplier or inventory changes matter, and define approval policies before your team acts.
Begin with a business outcome
A useful goal tells the engine what your team wants to protect or grow. “Protect supplier margin” or “Find existing accounts that are ready to expand” is a starting point. Add the conditions that matter: which accounts, suppliers, or SKUs, which changes are meaningful, and what context your team needs before acting.
Describe the boundary
Intent and policy are different. Your intent might be to avoid overpaying suppliers. Your policy might say: if a supplier raises prices more than 5% on important SKUs, prepare a negotiation brief, but do not send anything. The preview lets you choose prepare-only or approval-required. Neither setting enables external execution here.
Keep judgment and outcomes visible
Review the evidence and relevant expertise before approving a response. Record the actual outcome after your team acts. This creates a chain from observation to diagnosis, action, and feedback. The goal is to support a better business decision, not simply to generate more alerts.
